BOOKS: The Stone Diaries

They say Carol Shields is a great storyteller, a beautiful writer blah blah blah. People far more eloquent and interesting than I wax on about her and her amazing, insightful, sensitive storytelling, calling her "eligist of the everyday" etc.

Until now, I've never read her work. Guess what. They're right. She takes my breath away.
